I’ve narrowed my friends list down from hundreds to about 5, I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but a lot of my friends started disappearing during Covid and then the stragglers I let go of when they started finding over RFK Junior. The friends that I have now our friends that I’ve known for 20 years that didn’t get lost in the rabbit hole.
It's so nice to know I'm not alone in this. I write these posts because I can't just be the only one experiencing these kinds of reckonings right now. I tried not to reveal too many details out of respect for the ex-friend's privacy, but I am relieved that we haven't known each other for too long; so, while it's a loss, it's not a huge loss.
I’ve written whole essays about them. I called them out these days. I just wrote a piece about how the Supreme Court decision yesterday reminded me that we need to make these people feel creepy and weird because that’s what they are and I’m too old to have any fucks to give.
Yes! I just commented on it! Almost all of my posts since I launched my Substack in January contain not-at-all-veiled digs at the same handful of women who voted for Kamala Harris, but won't take what's happening in our country seriously (and won't hold their MAGA parents/loved ones accountable). Even more infuriating is that every single one of these women is a mother to a daughter.
